New Years Day Ride 2022

New Year’s Day started with cool crisp air and over 100 riders gathered at Beach Park for the traditional KW NYD ride.

We started the ride with a moment of silence for Road Warrior (Mike Geary) who lost his battle with prostate cancer on December 26th, 2021.

The ride was at 9:00am this year, which varied from the traditional 10am. Many riders pointed that out and they were heard. Next year, 10am as is traditional.

After the riders rolled out, I drove to the top of Round Mountain and met with Craig Pauley as he was setting out the items that we typically offer for riders (hot chocolate, gels, energy bars, electrolytes and cookies.)

The riders arrived in groups to stop, eat some goodies, and chat. The weather was just about perfect for the day: clear, crisp, and no wind.

Thanks to all that came out and who always make this ride special.
