Kern Wheelmen invites all cyclists to join in an event ride on Saturday, June 27th, 2020 in memory and in gratitude to the late Keith Stephens and his widow, Anne Stephens. Along with support and help from their neighbors, Keith and Anne Stephens created the “Amberhill Lane Rest Stop” on Granite Road in 2009.
On Sunday, June 14,2020, Kern Wheelmen members and other cyclists from the community gathered at Ethels Old Corral to honor the passing of Larry Bailey. Larry was a kind, gentle, helpful man as well as an accomplished bike rider. Camellia and Mike Geary organized the event as well as creating and placing the ghost bike.
The Kern Wheelmen Recreational Group ride this Saturday (6-13-20) has 11 riders. We started from Yokuts pPark and rode the bikepath to Ethels where we picked up another rider. We then went onto Round Mountain road counter clockwise. We saw Fast Frankie Torres in his Everesting attempt, in which you climb 29028.87 in 24 hours!.
