Start at the Penny Bar in McKittrick and ride to the top of Hwy 58 Lunch at the Penny Bar. 30 mi, 2700 ft See route for more info Start at Riverwalk Park at 8am, go out to Buena Vista Golf Course via the bike path (approx 40 miles round trip, flat). Those wanting a bit more can continue to the pump house on the canal (approx 12 miles more round trip, flat). Lunch is available at the Golf Course. See approx route here. The new bike path extension isn’t available for planning yet. Start at 8am, ride Rnd Mtn CCW to Granite Rd. Take Granite to the Woody Y and return on the same route. Those wanting fewer miles may turn around at Granite or return via Manor for a loop. Ethels to Granite and back over Rnd Mtn is 40 miles. Ethels to the Y and back is 52.5 miles See the route here. Start at CALM, ride to the 1st lookout on Breckenridge. Back to 178 and out toward the mouth of the Canyon to the Olive & Orange Bistro for drinks and food. Take Rancheria to the end and back. Stay on 178 to Masterton, then Paladino to Dump and Ethels. Short ride (skipping Rancheria) 38 miles, 2850ft Long ride 46.2mi, 3610ft Note: The start point has been moved from Ethel’s due to an event, The route will start at CALM instead. This will be replaced with information when the route is chosen the week of the ride date Bring Back the Kern would like to invite any and all members of the Kern Wheelmen to join us for a riverbed cleanup of San Miguel Commemorative Grove on Saturday, April 30th from 8:00 am- 12:00pm. As heavy users of the bike path, cyclists have seen first hand the debris and trash that have built up in the riverbed in recent years. In August of 2021, Bring Back the Kern made a commitment to completely clear the riverbed of trash. Since that time our group has hosted 5 clean up events and collected approximately 200 cubic yards of trash. We would welcome your club’s help with this event.
