It was with heavy heart last year that we had to bid farewell to Karen Eterno, a much loved and inspiring woman, former five time Kern Wheelmen president, and friend to many. Kern Wheelmen would like to invite you to wear pink (jersey, ribbons, socks, shorts-whatever you wish) and join us on a ride in Karen’s honor and in celebration of her life. This ride will give us the opportunity to reflect and remember Karen and share the blessings of friends, family, and cycling. Please join us on Saturday, March 20th on a ride beginning at Yokuts Park at 9am and heading east to Ethel’s Old Corral. Once you have arrived at Ethel’s, there will be an opportunity to sign a memory book for Karen’s family, share with friends, and enjoy a few snacks and drinks provided by KW before a short ceremony at 10am. As we bid farewell and wish everyone continued safe cycling, individuals are encouraged to choose their own route to finish their day of riding either by just heading back towards Yokuts Park on the bike path or choosing one of several options available in northeast Bakersfield.
We sincerely hope you will join us on March 20th to celebrate Karen’s life.
