Kern Wheelmen invites all cyclists to join in an event ride on Saturday, June 27th, 2020 in memory and in gratitude to the late Keith Stephens and his widow, Anne Stephens. Along with support and help from their neighbors, Keith and Anne Stephens created the “Amberhill Lane Rest Stop” on Granite Road in 2009. To honor the generosity and memory of Keith Stephens, Kern Wheelmen has joined with Anne Stephens to create a cycling event beginning at Ethel’s Old Corral at 6:30 am doing Round Mountain Road CCW, and 7:00 am going CW . Once arrived at the rest stop, cyclists will have the opportunity to meet Anne and sign a memory book, view the newly placed dedication granite stone, and of course, fill their water bottles!
If you are unable to join in our event, we hope your cycling schedule, no matter your route, will include a visit at the “Amberhill Lane Rest Stop” on Saturday, June 27th from 8:30-10:30am. We want to celebrate and honor the contributions of a fine man whose efforts have offered cyclists water and a bench in the shade for many years past and for many years still to come.
